Theme: Empowering West African youth to lead the green transition and build climate-resilient communities.

Overview:

This committee will focus on youth-driven environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and eco-innovation. Members will examine pressing ecological challenges in West Africa—deforestation, desertification, flooding, and energy poverty—and propose practical, scalable solutions led by youth.

Objectives:

  • To develop innovative, community-based responses to environmental degradation.

  • To promote renewable energy, circular economy models, and sustainable agriculture.

  • To encourage policy dialogues between youth leaders and environmental agencies.

Subtopics:

  1. 🌿 Youth-Led Climate Solutions

    • Creation of youth climate hubs and local adaptation projects.

    • Promoting renewable energy initiatives such as solar microgrids and biofuel startups.

    • Addressing waste management through recycling innovation and plastic alternatives.

  2. 🌍 Sustainable Agriculture & Green Economy

    • Encouraging eco-friendly agribusiness among young farmers.

    • Promoting sustainable value chains for cocoa, cashew, and shea sectors.

    • Linking green startups with investors to boost environmental entrepreneurship.

Expected Outcomes:

  • A “Youth Climate Pact” for West Africa with measurable sustainability goals.
